Mary K. is an award winning, published artist. She is self-taught with a little help from the public school system. She lives with her husband, Pat, in the cabin they built on the Little River located two miles from the entrance of The Great Smoky Mountain Nation Park, in Townsend, TN.
Mary K. has been painting and creating most of her life. Her favorite style of art comes from the Adirondacks and her focus has primarily been fish, thus the title, "THE FISH LADY". After frequently being asked if she could fish she decided she needed to learn. She now holds an IGFA World Record for a women fly-fisher and has fished from Alaska to Florida. She fishes as often as she can, with her husband and friends. She loves being on a mountain streams near her cabin, on the flats in Louisiana, and /or any body of water. She is known to say, "If the fish are not biting, at least I have the opportunity to enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery on earth."
Mary K. likes to use recycled wood, antiques, and other custom made pieces for her art. Her artwork is original or made from one of her originals. Most of her art is functional, has the patina of loving use, and is a piece that she hopes anyone would like to display in their home, or give to their best friend. She has recently added wildlife to her design theme. To Mary K., " This is another wonderful opportunity to enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery on earth."
